My name is Ben Smith. I’m just your ordinary guy that has a pretty extraordinary life. I’ve been a college baseball coach at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS for 13 years. I’ve also taught history at WCU for the last 6 years and even started the Cross Country program at the university. On top of those things, I am a husband, and a father of 3 daughters! Needless to say, my life is incredibly busy. Even with all the hustle and bustle of this lifestyle, my true passion is being outdoors. It doesn’t matter what it is, if it’s in the woods or on the water, I’m game. I developed a love for all things outdoors at a young age going on fishing trips with my father and hunting trips with my uncles. When the trip was over, I’d often find myself anxious to get back as soon as possible. This carried over into adulthood and here I am. Bagging a big buck or catching a giant fish is all icing on the cake for me. I’m in it for the adventure, experience, and peacefulness that only the woods and water can provide. I hope you enjoy this blog as I take you on a ride in the life of college baseball coach in pursuit of the outdoors!
